Fak - fak Regency is one of the districts in West Papua Province, Indonesia. The capital of this district is located in the Fakfak district. Fakfak Regency is located at 131°30' - 138°40' East Longitude and 2°25' - 4° South Latitude and borders: Bintuni Bay to the north, Arafura Sea to the south, Seram Sea and Berau Bay to the west, and Kaimana Regency to the south and east.[6] This district is famous for its nutmeg products, so it is nicknamed "Nutmeg City". In mid-2023, the population of Fakfak district will be 90,286 people.

Fakfak Regency, located in the southern part of West Papua, is very strategic because it has a relatively shorter connection with Ambon City compared to other cities on the island of Papua. Data for 2003 shows that 722.52 ha of land in Fakfak Regency is used for housing/settlement, 6274.58 ha for services/offices, 9.9 ha for fields/fields, and the rest is used for other purposes.
